Traffik Movie Review

“Traffik” has great thematic potential, but it also suffers from inconsistent tone and a questionable director. The movie has strong foul language and violent moments, and is best for adults. But there’s also a decent gangster story with a great cast and an interesting premise.

As a human trafficking story, “Traffik” is an important one, but it feels superficial. While the acting is good, the film lacks suspense and a sense of emotional connection. It also feels cheap and underdeveloped. I would have liked to see more scenes involving the victims of human trafficking.

Although it has a mainstream feel, Traffik tries to take a serious situation and turn it into an action thriller. This isn’t a bad thing, as it doesn’t end poorly. The first 30 minutes of the movie build up the premise and set up the story. Then the action really begins when the trafficking group arrives at the hideout. The location creates a sense of impending doom, but John and Brea have enough wit to get away with it.

Unfortunately, “Traffik” doesn’t do much to change this mindset. The movie is an attempt to shine some light on the horrific sex trade, but it’s a poorly made action film that doesn’t accomplish much. It’s inane, has a ridiculous cast of characters, and treats the sex trafficking ring like an evil organization.
